Stop the NIAAA from Funding Alcohol Experiments on Animals

Lamb

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, or NIAAA, is currently funding alcohol experiments that result in the pain, suffering, and certain death of animals.

Please sign our petition to the director of the NIAAA and ask him to stop these cruel, ineffective experiments.

PETITION TO:
George F. Koob, Ph.D. Director, National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism

Dear Dr. Koob:

As a committed PCRM donor, I urge you to stop NIAAA funding of experiments that force animals to ingest toxic amounts of alcohol, and endure pain, suffering, and certain death. Alcohol experiments on animals at more than 150 university laboratories are not only cruel, but deplete funds that should be directed to the hard work that really needs to be done to stop fetal alcohol syndrome, and other alcohol-related health problems. As Director, I urge you to focus NIAAA’s research budget on human-based studies and serious educational and intervention programs.

  Sincerely,
