Dear Physicians Committee supporter,
I am excited to announce that the Physicians
Committee will host the International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine: Cardiovascular
Disease on July 31 and Aug. 1, 2015, in Washington, D.C. Please
plan to join us for CME, great food, and one of the most important conferences
of the year.
A Focus on Cardiovascular Disease
breakthroughs have revealed that heart disease starts in childhood—perhaps even
in utero. Yet we have more powerful interventions than ever before. This
conference will share the latest scientific information to help clinicians put
these interventions to work.
experts including Kim Williams, M.D., president of the American College of
Cardiology, Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D., of the Cleveland Clinic, and many others will
share their insights on the role of nutrition in heart disease, hypertension,
stroke, children's health, and other topics. We will zero in especially on how
clinicians can bring nutrition into their practices.
Friday, July 31, the focus is on the surprising origins of heart disease, how
it can be prevented and reversed through diet and lifestyle changes, and what
clinicians need to know. You will have everything you need to put healthful
diets to work for your patients and in your own life.
Saturday, the scope widens to examine controversies over the role of
pharmaceuticals, the risks of "bad" fats, and the kinds of dietary policies
that can end the heart disease epidemic.
